In this interdisciplinary seminar we will examine various concepts of site-specific music, composed for and performed in public space. By reviewing models and theories of existing Public Art practices, the history of politically engaged music in the 20th century and by analyzing strategies for artistic engagement with political baggage in public spaces in various mediums, we will develop our own personal concepts and ideas for site-specific music outside of the concert hall. The seminar is designated for everybody, including composers and performers.

In recent years more and more contemporary music concerts are curated around concepts and binding themes. In this seminar we will review various types of themes and topics on which New Music events could be curated upon such as artistic research, historical research, site specificity and political and social themes. The seminar will include developing concepts and compositions that organically respond to current themes in contemporary society and culture in parallel to various types of financial support opportunities which are available for the arts. The seminar is designated for everybody, including composers and performers.
